東京を中心に活動する映像作家。これまでオーストラリア、アメリカ合衆国、台湾などで滞在制作を行ってきた。今回は直前の台湾における滞在制作作品と北九州における滞在制作作品を同時展示。ありふれた日常の光景に非日常的な要素を介入させ、私たちと世界の関係をユーモラスに問い直す。

Okumura's work is essentially site-specific though "site" in his work often appears as plain or superficial. Using computer editing technology, the artist carefully inserts or creates an unusual moment within ordinary scene, which ultimately questions our perception of and relationship with the world around us. Okumura has participated several artist in residence programs abroad including the United States and Taiwan. This exhibition is the first opportunity to see his Taiwan piece as well as his new project in Kitakyushu.
